Why is it important to use the correct weight banner material?

Hello, it's Nigel Knows here with some guidance for you on choosing the right banner material for each application.
There are 2 main reasons why it is important to choose the right banner material:

There is no point using a quality premium product when an economy material would have been sufficient!

It is important to use the right product for each environment. It would be incorrect to use an economy material on a high building exposed to windy conditions. This could result in your customer returning the banner and the job could cost you more.

Before quoting a customer for a job ask them what the banner is for and what sort of environment it is going to be situated in. Once this is determined the job can be accurately quoted for.

Short Term Banners

This is usually the most popular banner material because of the price. Economy banner material is ideally suited for use either indoors or in sheltered areas outdoors for low stress applications.

Mid Term Banners

For a mid term banner, an intermediate banner material will be ideal. This gives extra strength and the material can withstand more windy conditions than an economy material but is not as expensive as a premium banner material.

Long Term Banners

For a long term banner or a banner that is positioned in a harsh environment a premium banner material is required. Premium banner materials are heavier, more flexible and stronger so that they can withstand the pressures of high wind an other weather conditions.

Mesh Banners

Mesh material is usually used in applications where there are high wind loadings and a lighter weight and reduced wind resistance is required. Mesh is often used for giant mesh building wraps, large wall murals, exhibition booths, backdrops at concerts and fleet graphics.

Banner Finishing...

Banners are generally finished by either stitching or hemming with banner tape. It is sufficient to many banners by hemming with banner tape rather than subcontracting the stitching of banners. Once you are aware of the environment that the banner will be exposed to then this decision can be made. Why pay extra for stitching when you can keep things in house and use banner tape?
